Sepsis Trust NZ
Sepsis can happen to anyone, at any time.
Sepsis is a life-threatening response to infection that can cause rapid, irreversible organ damage and death.
More people die from sepsis than breast, bowel and prostate cancer combined. Yet we still know cases are being missed due to people not knowing the signs, or clinicians spotting it too late.
The New Zealand Sepsis Trust is working to change that.
We raise awareness of sepsis and the infections that can cause it, equip healthcare professionals to recognise and manage it earlier, support people and whānau through recovery and loss, and advocate for better systems, research and care.
Our vision is simple: to save lives and reduce harm from sepsis in Aotearoa New Zealand.
But we can't do it alone.
Learn the signs. Share the message. Support our work.
Could it be sepsis?
Suspect it. Say it. Stop it.
